On the contrary, they are gaining in importance because of interdisciplinary nature of R&D work and the fact that Scientific and engineering data is more and more often accompanied with trade and business Information . Therefore, accessing the right Information requires more efforts to design and create databases and other Information systems. The World Wide Web presents opportunities to offer solutions never before possible. Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) is in unique position to utilize the Web technology because its inherent capabilities are completely compatible with the traditional strength of ISI'sdatabases.
