the development of science and technology in Pol and strongly depends on the international cooperation. This requires, among o the rs, an appropriate flow of the information concerning different Scientific and Technical issues. It is possible on the condition that we have got knowledge on information systems in individual Countries and Some common informational st and ards have been established. the knowledge about trends in the development of Scientific and Technical information, as well as different detailed Programmes aimed at improvement of the accumulation, storage, processing and dissemination of Scientific and Technical information are important. the refore, the Information Processing Centre is now undertaking work on ga the ring and analysing information on the Scientific and Technical information systems in the most developed European Countries . the paper will show Some amongst the results of this work, i.e. information on the developmental trends in the Scientific and Technical information and selected Programmes in this field implemented in Some EU Countries . the above named trends and directions will be considered from the point of view of Pol and 's tasks aimed at the improvement of the national information system.
